CNC Programmer/Planner
Summary:
The CNC Programmer/Planner is responsible for transforming customer drawings and specifications into the complete range of manufacturing processes. This position is a key interface from the Quality Department to the Manufacturing Departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities range from process design to CNC machine tool programming and documentation in accordance with specifications and Quality Management System requirements. Other key duties include identification of manufacturing process for routers, creation of set up sheets and inspection plans for part production.
- Effectively interface with the management team and key staff members on process development and improvement, part manufacturing and production.
- Analyze compliance of internal specifications against sales orders, customer drawings, and specifications.
- Generate routers, set up sheets, inspection plans, and work instructions.
- Select appropriate materials, tooling, fixturing, and other supplies for manufacturing.
- Generate necessary CNC programs for 2-5 axis mills and lathes per drawings, solid models.
- Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with company HSE standards and procedures.
General Requirements:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as quality standards, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using MS Office products.
- Ability to speak effectively with employees of the organization.
- Ability to model, read, and interpret blueprints.
- Knowledge of G codes for CNC Milling Machines and CNC Mill/Turn Lathes.
- Ability to set up and troubleshoot CNC manufacturing problems.
- Pass drug screening and criminal background checks.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements:
Individuals must be capable of verbal communication, hearing and have adequate vision for reading small print and diagrams. The position will occasionally be required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, and/or controls, and to reach overhead with arms and hands. Employees will occasionally be required to lift or move objects up to 30 pounds unaided.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of programming experience in SmartCam advanced milling and turning applications.
- 3+ years CNC machining and set up experience with Fanuc, OSP, and Mazatrol controls.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Journeyman Machinist Certificate, Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year College or Technical school.
- Knowledge of threading and products used within the Oilfield Industry.
